Here at Girls’ Brigade, we are so proud to see our members experience once in a lifetime events as a reward for their hard work. For this years VE Day celebrations, members and volunteers from 1st Laindon, 2nd Billericay and 1st Belfairs watched the annual parade from Queen Victoria Memorial Gardens. Rebecca Herrett, 1st Amesbury, was bestowed the immense honour of an invitation to join His Majesty the King to watch the military procession and flypast on May 5, celebrating the 80 year anniversary of VE Day. Members and volunteers of Girls’ Brigade celebrated the 80th anniversary of VE Day in many different ways across the country. From taking part and watching parades, attending concerts, or simply doing a VE Day themed activity within a local group, every group should be proud to have taken part in the national event.
