Celebrating our young people

news

July is always a great time to reflect on the past year and celebrate all that GB members have achieved. This year has been no different, with many groups holding awards evenings and celebration events to mark the end of the GB year.

1st Sawston held a joint awards evening for their Girls’ and Boys’ Brigade members and 8th Portsmouth finished for the summer holidays with their annual awards night to celebrate the achievements of their members.

21st Castleford also held an awards evening for their members. They had a whopping 41 girls attend the evening who were presented with badges they had earned throughout the year.

Team Leader Sam says, ‘The church was full of family and friends supporting the girls. The girls then helped on cake stalls, teddy stalls and a raffle raising money for 21st Castleford to use in 2024 and 2025.’

The leaders were also presented with a small gift for their dedication to volunteer their time.

At 1st Higham Ferrers, the group joined the all age worship Sunday Service and shared details of their wonderful day at Trooping of The Colour with the congregation. Member Chloe was awarded the groups Achievement Cup for being such a helpful member to all; whether the little ones – or the bigger leaders.

Congratulations to all of our young people and volunteers who have achieved so many great things this year!
