It's time for some festive updates! Find out what our local community groups have been up to this month to celebrate Christmas...

1st Clacton-on-Sea made decorations for their tree entry in the church Christmas tree festival. The tree looked beautiful and the pompom decorations must have taken lots of patience to make! The group also came together for a Christingle carol service.
1st Kidderminster went all out with a festive sleepover! The event started with lantern-making and moved on to hot dogs, hot chocolate and a relaxing film on Saturday evening. When Sunday came around, we’re happy to report that the sleepy heads were up and ready for church in time!
1st Timperley have been celebrating Christmas using the Methodist resource ‘Hush the Noise’ by thinking about how they can take God’s love song into the world. They also celebrated with something a little less hush and listened to Chritsmas music while decorating gingerbread trees.
21st Castleford had Christmas carols and coffee night for Girls’ Brigade members, their families and friends, along with the church congregation. They had a visit from Santa and local charity Smiles For Miles donated gifts. At a time of year where some take a big pile of Christmas presents for granted, the charity and 21st Castleford ensured that every child that attended got a gift to unwrap on Christmas day. What a lovely thought!
5th Northampton spent their final session of the year in Pizza Hut. Girls and leaders spent the evening enjoying food together to celebrate a great year.
Earlier this month, 1st Ryton Girls’ Brigade members sang Christmas songs in ASDA at Gateshead, spreading Christmas joy and promoting Girls’ Brigade. Well done!
1st Charlton Kings held their annual Christmas crafts evening where the girls made and decorated homemade chocolate brownies. They also decorated tealights, Christmas figures and tree decorations. The group chaplain led a devotional session with Christmas paper chains to hang on the church prayer board.
3rd Southwick started Christmas celebrations early all the way back in October by preparing shoeboxes that will be travelling with Link to Hope all the way to Eastern Europe, where they’ll be distributed to families in need. Link to Hope spoke to the members about the appeal and the impact of their efforts and commended the group on their great gift ideas for the shoeboxes.
1st Higham Ferrers enjoyed a Christmas treat when they went ice-skating together recently. The girls were brave and took to the ice, even with little or no experience! The group have also been having more Christmas fun at their church by getting stuck into Christmas crafts.
