21st Castleford celebrated 80 years of The Girls' Brigade in Castleford. The group enjoyed a disco, DJ and magic show. They shared party food and danced the night away, ending with a cupcake each and a keepsake cup to remember the anniversary..
9th Hull celebrated their 75th birthday in October. They celebrated by putting on a performance called '75 years through the Ages', where The young people learned about the past 75 years' history of their group and uniform, they sang and performed 'Happy Birthday' in sign language and made special 75th birthday bookmarks for everyone. They created a tuck shop from 1949 with old wrappers on the sweets. They concluded celebrations with a big slice of birthday cake.
4th Sheffield took a trip to the cinema recently to see Paddington 3 to celebrate their 90th anniversary. Earlier in the year, they also performed a concert ‘Through the Decades’ to over 250 people. Each girl was awarded a special 90th badge. The celebrations concluded with a church service where they awarded two members with their Brigader Brooches. Afterwards, there was a party lunch for past and present members, their families, and the church congregation. Current leaders cut a special cake - we're sure it was yummy!
