The sessions also aim to share more about what the Royal Navy does and the exciting opportunities it offers. 8th Portsmouth group took advantage of one of the sessions earlier this year and the young women involved had a great night.
Team Leader Catherine says ‘Our Girls’ Brigade members really enjoyed the Attract Team session. It was great to see them taking in all the information about the Royal Navy and then enjoying the game played. They loved getting stuck into building communications towers and it was great to see their teamwork and communication skills being put to the test! One of my n:spire members said it was her best GB night ever!’
The interactive sessions last for 60 – 120 minutes and are aimed at young people aged 10-25. Parental consent and leader presence are also needed.
South West Attract Team Leader Warrant Officer 1 Natasha Pulley says ‘We have a small, dedicated and hugely experienced team who work hard to both stimulate and educate whilst developing key life skills in a variety of settings. All staff are DBS checked and have previous experience working with youth organisations and in teaching and training environments.’
