4th Lincoln took four young people to Unite, a Christian event for young people. The members of 4th Lincoln were able to meet other Girls’ and Boys’ Brogade members, take part in activities such as paddleoarding and experience the worship events there. Leader Alison says ‘It was lovely to see the girls’ faith growing.’
Around 20 girls and leaders from 8th Portsmouth Girls’ Brigade have just returned from a week-long camp at Swanage Methodist Church (10-17 August). Activities enjoyed included a quiz, trips to Monkey World and Farmer Palmer’s, crabbing, sandcastle competition, treasure trail, craft and much, much more!
The devotions theme for the week was based around the Olympics, specifically looking at 1 Corinthians Ch.9:25, and how we can run the race of life on Jesus’ team.
2nd Bath and 1st Charlton Kings had a wonderful camp at Tiverton. They travelled to Exmouth on the train, visited Knightshayes National Trust, went rowing, visited Tiverton Museum and went swimming. It sounds like a jam-packed five days that the girls didn’t want to leave!
2nd Leyton enjoyed an activity week cooking, crafting, playing in the park, visiting the cinema, and screaming on the rides at Adventure Island Southend (followed by ice cream of course). They also had a special treat and visited the V&A museum. They followed the Taylor Swift trail to view all her lovely outfits and ended the week playing adventure golf and eating McDonalds. A great week was had by all, and the sun shone every day!
